Hassan Al Hilou welcomes us on the 31st floor of the luxurious building in which he lives on the banks of the Willebroek Canal in Brussels. With his smooth hair helmet, beard and eyebrows that look like they have been drawn with a brush, he resembles the warriors of the Babylonian bas-reliefs of ancient Mesopotamia, present-day Iraq.
“When I moved here, I wanted to buy the apartment, but because I was a minor, the bank wouldn’t give me a loan”, laughs the young man, who turned 19 in April.
